Isla Magica Trip

On the 18th June 2011 we are planning a day trip to Isla Magica in Seville. Get more information from Section leaders only 50 places available.

 

Group Camp 2011    LAST WEEK TO SIGN ON

 

The Group Camp will this year be held at the Don Bosco Campsite in Chiclana Spain from the 8th to the 10th April 2011.

The idea is to have all sections at camp during the weekend with a variety of activities on offer for young and old. As St George's Day is only a couple of weekends after, the campsite will be decorated with the St Georges flags and banners. Sections are also encouraged to use this as a theme for the camp.

 

Presentation of Certificate

Seventeen leaders from the Group will be receiving their NSPCC certificate for completing Child protection courses. All leaders completed the Keeping Children Safe course with two leaders completing the Safer Recruitment due to their management roles. The presentation will be held at Group HQ on Wednesday 12th January 2012 at 7.45pm.

Christmas Variety Show

The Group will be holding a variety show on the 9th and 10th December 2010 at the Inces Hall theatre. The show comprises of acts by the Corps of Drums, Singers, drummers beats, fanfare, guitarist, dancers, Carol singing, Campfire songs and many other talented musicians who are all members of the Group. Tickets will go on sale in early November priced at £5

Explorer Scouts Expeditions

Members of the Explorer Scout Unit will be taking part in an expedition during the weekend of the 19th to 21st November 2010. One team will be completing the qualifying expeditions for their Chief Scouts Platinum Award (DoE Silver) whilst two teams will complete their Chief Scouts Diamond Award (DoE Bronze). The Explorer hope to qualify and join a group of older Explorer Scouts who will be presented with their Queens Scouts Awards (DoE Gold) early next year.

Leaders Training Weekend

From the 19th to 21st November 2010, leaders from the Group will be undertaking intensive training in Huerta Grande in Pelayo, Spain. Leaders will be recapping on traditional scouting skills and also complete modules 1, 2 and 3 of the leader training program, child protection, health and safety and team building events.

Guy Fawkes

The traditional Group Guy Fawkes bonfire will be held on the 5th November at GLO Scout Camp on the Upper Rock. Event will commence at 6.45pm, drinks and burgers will be on sale. Only open to members and family.

New Troop Opening

The 1st/4th (MMHO) Gibraltar Scout Group will be opening a New Troop to cater for the ever increasing number of youngsters wanting to join the Group.

The Mountbatten Troop will meet on Tuesdays from 6.30 to 8.30pm as from the 5th October 2010. The Troop will be led by Jonhenry Mauro with the assistance of Tyson Hernandez and Ashlin Yeo. There are already 25 new members for the New Troop but any interested youngster can still call if interested in joining. The New Troop complements the existing Battenburg Troop which meets on Friday’s.

Beaver Recruitment Drive

We are looking for eager youngsters who want to join the Beaver colonies. Beaver Colonies are for youngsters aged 5 ¾ to 8 years. They meet on;

As from today all section meetings will be held at our new HQ at the Inces hall Complex. Our Corps of Drums and Brass band will continue to operate from our Wellington Front Music Centre.
